Conference Dinner

Where?

18:30, Friday 6th December 2019

Can I come?

Yes! There are two ways you can register a place:

1) When you register for the conference, simply tick the box to add the dinner to your basket; or

2) If you are not coming to the conference (either full event or day pass), still click on the red ‘register now’ button on this page and you will see there’s an option to purchase a social ticket only. This could be a good option for those attending the conference who wish to bring a friend/partner.

 

How do I get there?

Getting to Taronga Centre:

Option 1: Scenic Route (Recommended)

Highlights include Sydney Harbour Ferry and Zoo gondola ride

 

1. Walk from Abercrombie business school to Redfern station (10 minutes)

 

2. Take the train from Redfern Station to Circular Quay Station ($3.61) – from Platform 5 or 7 (runs every 3-6 minutes, duration 12-14 minutes).

 

3. Exit Circular Quay train station and take the ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 4 to Taronga Zoo ($4.12) (12 minutes)

• The ferry departs at 5:45pm, 6:15pm or 6:45pm (last ferry).

• Payment: Same method as the train above.

 

4. From Taronga Zoo wharf, take the Gondola up to the zoo entrance - just tell the gondola operator you are here for the conference dinner.

a) If you are afraid of heights, claustrophobic or would just prefer not to take the gondola:

• The 238 bus meets each ferry at Taronga Zoo ferry wharf and will take you up to the venue ($0.24).

• Or it is an 11-minute uphill walk.

 

Option 2: Bus

Please note that this will be during rush hour so travel times may vary

1.Walk 6 minutes to City Road

 

2. The M30 Metro Bus travels to Taronga Zoo Sydney every 10 - 15 minutes from City Road (1 hr 6 minutes) ($3.73)

1. Credit card: If your credit card has a symbol on it that looks like this you can tap on and off public transportation with your credit/debit card

2. If not, you need to obtain an opal card. Single use Opal cards are available at the train station or convenience stores. Cards are free but need to be loaded with a minimum $10 value. More information is available at https://transportnsw.info/tickets-opal/opal/get-opal-card.

 

Option 3: Driving

Please note that this will be during rush hour at travel times may vary

1. Parking is available at Taronga Zoo Sydney, entry from Bradleys Head Road. The all-day parking rate is $18.

2. An Uber from the Abercrombie Building to Taronga Centre is about $32-42.

3. Take a taxi:

• You can easily hail a taxi from City Road (see option 2 for a map)

• You can order a taxi by phoning 13 22 27

• You can order a taxi by downloading the 13CABS app
